View and walk to the surf at Playa Maderas from this idyllic eco-lodge. The Buena Vista Surf Club is a small lodge situated in the tropical forest behind the beach. From the deck you have a superb wide angled view of the ocean. It is a perfect place to enjoy the sunset and check the surf.

THE LODGE

This is Jungle Paradise! The lodge consists of 2 freestanding luxurious tree houses with the master bedroom in the main building. This is where also the lounge area, dining room, bar and the sun deck are located.

All rooms have ocean view and are located in such a way that you can enjoy your privacy. At night you will fall asleep with the sound of the crashing waves. In the morning the sound of birds and howler monkeys will welcome you to a new day!

THE ROOMS

- luxurious cabañas in between the trees that sleep 2 comfortabley ( The beds can be prepared as 2 singles or 1 double). All tree houses have mosquito nets, a ceiling fan and their own private bathroom

- The Master bedroom is located in the main building and sleeps up to 4 persons (the beds can be prepared as singles or doubles). The room has mosquito nets, 2 fans and a private bathroom

The large, picturesque deck is connected to the bar/restaurant/common space and commands the most stunning views of the surrounding hills and surf.

THE FACILITIES

Daily housekeeping service is provided.
The camp is off the power grid, and in an effort to conserve energy lights and fans are only run in the evenings.
The stilted infinity deck has no banisters and quite high off the ground, please be aware that this may be a hazard for small children.

The whole lodge has room for up to 8 persons in total.

$220/night for 4 people and $25/night for each add up to 8 people max.
The group rate ensures that you have the entire lodge to yourself

$85/night fo 1 casita for 2 people.

Breakfast is included with 8 night’s rate.
Lunch and dinner are available for $10 and $12.50 respectively.
Deals are available on the food if your group plans to eat multiple meals at the lodge.

THE AREA

The lodge is located on the hill just behind Playa Maderas just a few minutes walk from the surf, the main surfing beach for the San Juan area. The town of San Juan del Sur, a 10 minute drive from the lodge, provides restaurants, gift shops, boat tours, jungle canopy rides, nightlife and more.

THE SURF

Maderas is essentially a sand bottom beach break. Though sand filled rock outcroppings on the bottom make for a few consistent main peaks. At times the small point offers a tricky left-hander, requiring a sketchy takeoff over a boil and negotiation of rocks on the inside.

The beach break portion of the wave is softer and slower than most of the nearby beach breaks, making it user-friendly and a favorite option for all levels of experience. When medium to bigger swell arrives waves become faster and more hollow, to the joy of the more advanced surfers in the area.

THE BEACHES

Playa Maderas is one of the few spots with a bona-fide beach scene. Travelers and locals alike come to the beach on a daily basis to enjoy the sun, sand and surf with a few staying overnight in the small hostel or camping out.

They make use of this beach as well as those to the north which offer a little more seclusion and more swimming options. The rocks and reefs here offer great snorkeling. The snorkeling experience ranges from mediocre to excellent here depending on how clear the water is that day.
